Bar Fly..Sounds Dirty

Seeing as I obessed with entering to get free tickets to gigs, it seemed it finally paid off as I got the Chance to see a whole lot of bands/Singers in Camden.

Okie, so it was not in KOKO where I usually grace, but in Barfly nearer to Chalk Farm Road..

It was good timing as I had a bad day in Placement, so I was glad to meet Belinda to forgot about it.
Walking down the road we encountered a surprise..Razorlight Singing on the roof of Hawley Arms Live! (Quick history, the pub was famous for being a star hang out and burnt down in the fire that destroyed a large Chunk of the Marketplace..Story can be found here)

I was so happy. They are amazing live. All good :P

Hmm, we soon reached Barfly..
First impression was that it looked dark and the sort of place that indie bands are bred in the basement. That, and it was filled with over 25's that looked as though they were successful and should be in the city having expensive drinks in private clubs.

The toilet gave me no confidence either:

Anyway, drinks were consumed and pictures were taken...

And again..

And again..

Well they say three times a charm, do they not..? :P

The bands themselves were okie from what we saw of them..
Drums Of Death + Ipso Facto DJs + L-Vis 1990 + Todd Hart + Goldielocks + The Pity Party.

She was AMAZING!

Anyway, After a while we had to leave..The Music was to much and I had downed a little to much Rum to continue to stand in the Audience. Good times though!

We are off to see the Wizard..The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Since I d love Musicals/Plays/Theatres and Tom knows I love them, it made sense that he would give me free tickets to see the"Wizard of Oz". His Father does own the theatre in Abby Mills after all :P
Best place for shopping
To be honest, all I wanted to do was spend time with him and Tim, but to see the show was an extra bonus.
It had the usual story line of the Lion looking for courage, the red shoes, evil witch..But with only 4 actors playing all 9 characters..Intriguing I thought.
I also managed to snap some good shots of the action..Tis fun:

Anyway, After the performance I also had a free drink while listening to the guys talk about work, weird fantasies and Manga. It made for a nice end to the evening..Especially as Tim walked me to the station like a gentleman. Aww, spoilt I am aren't I..?

Mixing up the friendship and Audio Bullies

Oh yes, another indie band gig in Camden, KOKO for me again. Who ever would have guessed that..?
It was diffeent then most nights though. I had no idea who were playing, or who was going All I was told by a certain Ms Bigot, that I was invited to come join her and her mates in Camden.
Curiosity pipedup, I made my way down there.
Who were these "friends"..?
A bunch of lovely females it seems, who shared my love of mini adventures and music.
There was Anna, Zero and Markio. There was another though I am useless with names and forgot it..Edta I think it was..

We had a few drinks and then headed to Koko. The band was called Audio Bullies and I discovered to my dismay, I did not like them very much. AT ALL!

I didn't pay to get in though, which was one good thing, and there was a DJ before hand playing random songs. That eased the pain.Along with Dancing..

That and nicking a guy's orange Flower Neckless, which everyone posed with..

Me and Claude got seperated from the main group after a few hours, so after trying to find them and failing, we knocked back a few drinks and dancing with eachother, we headed out drunk and happy about 2ish. C'est la Vie :P

Let us celebrate the Wickedness

As promised to Shane I finally saw Wicked with himin Victoria.
Well to be fair it was more then just a trip to the threatre. It was "Shane is my bitch day" where I treated him to food and entertainments. It was only fair, as for the last few times I have seen him, he paid for me..(even when not asked).
We met at Victoria, then we departed with the tickets to Waterloo. There was nothing really to do there except wander round like Tourists. It was fun, as we watched the various buskers. Hungry work it seems as we were both starving. A posh resturant tucked in the corner served our needs well..Mussels + Chips for Shane. Chicken and Potatos for meee. Plus desserts. Had to keep the kid happy ;p

Nothing worth writing about happened til we went to the Musical in the evening. The rest of the time was spent in a quaint bookstore in Treadwell Street, and talking. No gossip for you folks!

My opinions of Wicked..?
Ace. Fucking smart and clever. Must get the book- and I would advice you to see it tooo...<3
Good times :P

(Thanks Shane).

Favourite Song lyrics..

Dancing thru Life Song:
FIYERO
The trouble with school is
They always try to teach the wrong lesson
Believe me, I've been kicked out
Of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow
Less shallow
But I say: why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife
And learn to live "the unexamined life":

Defying Gravity:

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

I am not that girl..
Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl:

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl:

Rise up for the festival now

The rise festival. A place where people can lay aside their differences and all come together against racism..At least that was the orignal idea of the festival. Instead thanks to Mr Johnson the mayor, it turned into a political minefield. He said there is no such thing as racism.
Of course there isn't! We were just having big joke with the name calling and bullying were'nt we?..
Anyway besides from the fact others were using it to fuel their hate, it was a good day.. I met up with Claude and John in Finsbury Park and just chilled in the grass listening to various artists. Cannot remember most of them..The Aliens and CSS were fun to listen to. There were 6 different stages too, so a wide range of things. :P There was also a reaction tester which was cool. It had 10 buttons that flashed one by one. You pressed them as fast as you can in 30 seconds. I got 33, Claude 29 .John 39! I was impressed! Claude was hung over so did not say much as was John (Proof Alochol was bad for you) though we did send him on the way for more Beer! We got approched my Hare Christians and gave them money, So to evan it out John decided to argue with the Green Peace Activists saying "So why are you so right then?!". I had to walk away.
Forgot to mention there was a funfair as well, and lots of food stalls there. Tasty. It was heavenly!

Claude left us early, so we soon left for Chelsea..I had a bet whether I could bet him on the tube to mine, on his motorbike. He won. I felt well upset. Damn it all.

The itunes Festival in KOKO

I have found out I got another addiction to go with the ones I have alreay. It is called "Entering Competitions. Relatively heartbreaking though as my enthusium is not met with wins. This time however I managed to win some tickets for the Itunes festival..And invited Claude to watch it with me.. The bands were pretty good actually and I enjoyed it as the music entered into my hear. The script and Sam Beeton. Sam was better in my eyes..

You never get tired of telling me
How I don’t understand you
When the problem is
You know I think I do
I was just tryin’ to name that face
So familiar, yet so out of place
What's he want with you
Oh god it’s like I said
Still give up damn, if you think I can be what you want
It’s Just a little late to stop

(Chorus)
Now I know what you look for
I’ts too late for me
And I know what you look for
And he doesn’t look a thing like me
I guess what I’m good for
Is laughing at,
Stop laughing at me

The last 3 minutes of an era
Are passing by without a sound
You just shook it off
I was prepared for every change
But your stupid face is on my mind again
I can’t say enough.
Really wanna put you off

(Chorus)
Now I know what you look for
It’s too late for me
And I know what you look for
And he doesn’t look a thing like me
I guess what I’m good for
Is laughing at…
Stop laughing at me

If you can afford to take what you want
Don’t look down…

No one here saw anything
You just slipped the knife in between
Breathing in and out
Casual isn’t it,
Vicious little look is all it takes
To brake the bank
Very worst way to go

(Chorus)
Now I know what you look for
It’s too late for me
And I know what you look for
And he doesn’t look a thing like me
I guess what I’m good for
Is laughing at,
Stop laughing at me

And what do you look for?
It’s a crying shame
Now I know you should see yourself
Now you’re hanging out the back door
I guess what were good for is laughing at,
Stop laughing at me…
Hm, anyway, as usual we made the best of the night and stayed until about half 1. There were drinks, gossip and shots to be had, as well as Chiense food and drunken French songs. Best way to spend the middle of the week!

A sprinkle of Jazz into the mixture

It was back to the Scoop I went this evening to watch Jazz music.
I am Jazz's biggest fan, though it seems I am dating one as I sat down to a "man-turned boy"..he ewas bouncing and telling me all about what he liked-Blues Brothers were mentioned a lot more then they should have been. I must admit though, I did enjoy the Jazz and thought it was amusing. Not that I am going to ditch my beloved Soft Rock Collection and fill the space up with hits like that Anyway, I enjoyed it more then I thought..The girlie was really good at the singing and everyone looked like they were happy to be there. Wanted to play the Trumpet so bad though..Ekk..

One night only ..for the day

I am glad I am friends with Belinda sometimes. This time it comes from her knowledge that the band One night Only were going to be hanging out in Holland Park for a couple of hours talking to their Fans and playing.
Well, kinda. We went to South Ken, then to High street Ken. Went to Oympia and then back to Holland Park. I was so tired at the endof it..

Guess how we found them..? In a massive layer of teenage girls screaming their heads off, And probably wetting their panties at the thought of being near the "Stars".
I was disappointed. Damn it all.
We did wonder round and talk to the band though..So that was okie, plus we got photos and a signed pair of shoes..
Meh, give me La Rebla Fam any day!

Who is this band anyway..?
George Craig (Singer)..he had the biggest groupie crowd..
Jack Sails (keyboard)
Mark Hayton (guitar)..I thought he was the cutest Looking!
Dan Parkin (base)
Sam Ford (drummer)..He was really sweet to talk to

Anyway, Bio is here is you want to read it:

Drip Drip Drop, the April Showers are here

So, if I kept you in Supsense over the last few weeks over my adventures let me break this self inflicted "blog" Silence and enlighten the Mystery of my life...
Well I think the most inmportant change in my life is the fact I am now part of a couple..Yes, after much "Are they, are they not?!" moments, myself and john are now officially a couple.
Loved up for the while and happily dreaming of the day the cottage with Roses and daisy the cow (Okie, that was a bad reference about the fact John loves Cows..Why you ask?..Why indeed as I have yet to discover the love of something that tastes good with tomato and chips on the side..But that is just me!)

So besides the new shadow I have beside me, Or rather a new body to follow (Who is shadowing who I wonder, I think we are both Stalkers to eachother :OP). The joys of Kingston has been replaced with the joys of Placement..

Arggh no you moan. This is the student that complained that she hated study. And work.Or anything that somewhat exercises the brain more then reading recycled riddles in riddlenut.com..What the hell is she still in the course for?!
Relex, I am out of the wards and into the Community!..It has opened my eyes to so much and actualy (Shock horror) made me want to work outside the placement..
So far I have been on House Visits, Varoius clinics and even a study day where I got a smart looking certificate...fancy huh?..

So what else has kept me from this beautiful page?..Well..Pretty much John (the new guy, remember?)
He took me for a motorbike ride and even taught me the basics..I didn't hurt myself, though I did brake too hard that made me look balance and fall..As the bike was heavy, it fell as I jumped off it * Looks bashful*..Everything was fine though!

Hmm, I also have become the unoffical groupie of the band "Le Rebla Fam"..AKA "Ben's band"..
They are really good, as I saw them a few times in various clubs and ace dudes to dance with...Watch this space, they will be big! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=86346353

Rawr, I havn't really been socail with the old mates like Rosie and Harry outside the MSN/Phone Convos though as it is Harry's birthday Celebration soon, it will be an ace time where drinks and laughter will be had!
I did go out with Ant Draper in the Works to see a "Kid Harpoon" gig, for like the 5th time..:P
There was revelotions as we discovered the girl's toilet has "Mirrored Glass", where we can see them, but they couldn't see us..Boobie fest indeed!

So in Summary, there has been gigs, Drinking, Finding out me and John make a good couple and stalking of Cassie..and having unoffical *Sleepovers* at her place..
...Oh and the fact that I am a good student toooo...Blessed be.

Koko Fun

So as you know I am a massize fan of music..(Especially if it is "new" and "indie"-I try not to be a poser but fail completly with the converse and generic music!)so when Belinda texted me to say that she won tickets on myspace for a gig in Koko I was all ears to go. As I convinced myself I was too ill for uni and was having "retail therapy" in Camden it was all too easy to meet Belinda at the station and walk up. The official band we were going to see were the "Futureheads" though we were lucky to witness other Artists including Miss S.Crowe (better then I realised). Hmm..I was surprised that I was able to borrow someone's phone battery as well, since my own died before I took the many pixs that were calling to be shot (I am forever in the Welsh's depths!) Another surprise was when we discovered that we were being filmed to be shown on the E4 music channel and that Sarah Cox was presenting the show. Fakes claps and laughter from the audience was recoreded. At least that answered the question over why the claps sounded so half hearted on the TV!
